Many are on the hunt for the best toys of 2018 as Christmas draws closer. While there isn’t a spotlight toy that is grabbing headlines this year like the Furby or Tickle Me Elmo did during previous holiday seasons, there is no shortage of fun items that will likely bring smiles to small faces. Known as the Toy Guy, toy expert Chris Byrne says when it comes to video games, the system to grab this year is the Nintendo Switch.

Byrne says those that are looking for ways to limit screen time for younger eyes, he says group games continue to be a hot item.
Byrne says if you are looking for a gift that can get kids outdoors and possibly learning, he’s got just the thing.

Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, a celebration of local business that’s sandwiched in between the monoliths of Black Friday today, and Cyber Monday next week. National Federation of Independent Business Spokesperson Dawn Starns says folks know if you spend local, that money tends to stay local.
It can be tough for a small establishment to keep up with the bulk buying, market dominating big box retail stores during a crucial season, but Starns says even local businesses have started doing sales today and Monday. That being said, your best, local deals will be found tomorrow.

And while you’re out shopping, make sure you make a stop at a local restaurant to refuel for the rest of today and tomorrow’s mad dash for deals, because Starns says after the holidays restaurants tend to get hit hard by the rush of new dieters.

Lutz says all it takes is for one crawfish to get white spot syndrome and all of the mudbugs in a pond can get sick. He says for some producers it’s been a real issue…
Lutz says white spot disease is harmless for humans. He says it’s been issue worldwide in the shrimp industry and the virus was first detected in Louisiana in 2007. He says they need more research dollars in order to examine what’s causing white spot disease
