Attorney General Jeff Landry says he’s running for re-election because he sees crime as the biggest issue facing Louisiana in the near future, and AG’s are best situated to tackle it. Landry says his presence in the office will also help in the national legal battle to protect President Trump’s legislative agenda.

Landry said in August he would run for governor if no Republicans who could legitimately threaten Governor Edwards declared. This takes him out of the running.

Food delivery service Waitr is going public on the NASDAQ stock exchange this Friday.  The company started in Louisiana in 2013 and has since expanded into over 230 cities in the southeast.  CEO Chris Meaux says the future is bright, as they look to expand their services to include alcohol delivery.

Senator John Kennedy says the chances for a passage of any long term flood insurance program renewal in the lame duck session are slim. The Senator says there’s been a particularly pervasive impression from non-coastal politicians that the National Flood Insurance Program is just a giveaway to the wealthy, and not a crucial protection for working class water front folks.

Kennedy is sponsoring a six month extension for the program that expires November 30th.

The Saints host the Eagles on Sunday, and It doesn’t look like offensive tackle Terron Armstead will play as reports say he’ll miss three to four weeks with a pectoral injury. That means veteran Jermon Bushrod could get start. Drew Brees says Bushrod can handle the assignment…
