It’s looking unlikely that Congress will pass any kind of long term flood insurance renewal before the lame duck session ends. At this point, Senator John Kennedy says they’re focusing on just making sure the program doesn’t expire November 30th. Unlike most of the problems on Capitol Hill, Kennedy says this one isn’t actually about Democrats and Republicans, it’s more about people who live near water vs. those who don’t, and those who don’t just don’t consider it a priority…
Kennedy says there’s a mistaken impression that flood insurance is just for rich folk’s beach homes.
And AG Jeff Landry is out of the running for the 2019 governor’s race as he’ll seek re-election to help the state focus on crime issues, and to help support the President’s legislative agenda. States have become the legal battle grounds for immigration and voting policy, and Landry says he needs to stay put to keep up that fight.
Landry’s re-election was highlighted by the Republican Attorney General Association as a 2019 priority.

Food delivery service Waitr is going public on the NASDAQ stock exchange this Friday. The company started in Louisiana in 2013 and has since expanded into over 230 cities in the southeast. CEO Chris Meaux says resturant’s that hop on board the delivery revolution will see increased profits.
