Vice President Mike Pence is in the Crescent City, paying a visit to the World War Two Museum and later hosting a fundraising event. Pence’s visit comes at a particularly difficult moment for the administration that’s been rocked by criminal scandals involving former Campaign Manager Paul Manfort who was convicted on multiple counts, and former Trump confidant and attorney Michael Cohen who pled guilty, and implicated the President. LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan says this is a chance for Pence to start building relations, in case he gets an unexpected promotion.

A Shreveport woman recently was mailed some paperwork officially noting her divorce had been finalized, except she never asked for one, and now her husband, 27-year-old Demario Clark is in jail.  Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Cindy Chadwick says the woman’s husband has been arrested as a result of the bogus paperwork.

Two Springhill men are under arrest for possession of a substantial amount of child pornography. 44-year-old Bo Skywalker Roberts is facing two counts of child porn possession, and 54-year-old Joe Palmer is looking at 200 counts of possession, and 40 counts of distribution. The investigation involved members of multiple agencies. State Police Trooper Glenn Younger says cooperative efforts like these often lead to major arrests and the dismantling of child pornography distribution networks.

Louisiana is one of only five states without a statewide rideshare policy that would allow companies like Uber and Lyft to operate in any city. Rideshare legislation crashed and burned in the Senate after parliamentary maneuvers by Senate President John Alario.
