The LSU board of supervisors has selected twelve innovations to support with grant money.  The funds are the result royalties from the licensing of earlier inventions and innovations from the university.  CEO of the LSU Research and Technology Foundation, Arthur Cooper, says another concept that received funding is one for the taste buds: an oyster flavoring.

Senator John Kennedy has sponsored an amendment to the Senate Farm Bill that would require SNAP program recipients to show a photo ID during a transaction. Kennedy says this would help cut back on tens of billions of dollars in yearly fruad, that is rampant in the program…

Cut 6 (10)  “intended them to go”

Louisiana has seen gains in child well-being, but those gains could be reversed if an undercount of children takes place with the upcoming census.  KIDS COUNT manager at Agenda for Children Teresa Falgoust explains that over $2 billion are allocated to children’s programs based on census numbers, so accuracy is important.

A 17-year-old suspect is in custody in Morehouse Parish following arson allegations. Marquarious Williams fled to McKinney, Texas in 2017 after the incident at Bastrop high where he allegedly set set a fire in the bathroom in the after school hours. State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says the malicious act deserves the aggravated arson charge, and that Williams started the blaze using nothing more than ordinary materials…
