Governor John Bel Edwards has signed several bills that strengthen Louisiana’s laws against hazing. Under the legislation, a person can be sentenced up to five years in prison if hazing results in death or a serious injury, also colleges are now required to teach students about the dangers of hazing and organiziations that knowingly allow hazing can face fines.
