Some of the coldest air we’ve seen in some time is descending on Louisiana. A cold front is moving through which will drop temperatures to near freezing in some northern areas. Heavy rain is possible with the cold front, which state climatologist Barry Keim says could affect some high school games…:

Keim says we could see temps in the 30s tomorrow morning in north Louisiana, and high temperatures Saturday across the state in the 50s.

An arrest has been made in the case of the double murder on the campus of Grambling State University this week. The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office says they’ve booked a freshman student, 19-year-old Jaylin Wayne, on murder charges in the deaths of Earl Andrews and Monquiarious Caldwell, both 23. It’s been a somber week at GSU which was supposed to be a homecoming celebration. Students are holding a peace walk today instead of a pep rally.

ULM has a new Doppler radar and Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Science Todd Murphy says it’s already paid off. He says the National Weather Service was better able to predict the tornado outbreak in Mississippi last April…:
