New data from insuranceQuotes finds Louisianans who bundle their auto and home insurance could save an average of nearly 600 dollars a year. The LSU Tigers are ranked as the nation’s fifth most-valuable college football program in a report out of Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. The analysis, by Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance, broke down each team’s available revenue and expenses from 2016. He found that if the Tigers were for sale, they’d be worth about $911 million dollars…:

Cut 7 (10)  “attendance records”

The report shows the SEC as a whole put five teams in the top 10, which would make it the most valuable conference averaging $523 million per team. Brewer says he also took into account the risk of fans switching to another team, so it’s not really surprising that the SEC ranked so high…:

Cut 8 (09) “cultural deal”

Brewer says, unlike the NFL, college football ratings have not seen declines over the last year; and they are actually near all-time highs. Though he looked at these numbers from last year, he doesn’t predict LSU’s football program being any less valuable if they have a losing season in 2017. He says when a fan base is mad, it’s good because it means they care…:

Cut 11 (08) “on Saturday”

Cut 13 (14) “hurricane”

The good news is Nate will not be as strong a storm as Harvey, Irma or Maria.  Zelinsky (Zuh-lin-ski) explains why…:

Cut 14 (09) “down somewhat”

The big question is the timing of Nate, and when the Pelican State will be affected.  Zelinsky (Zuh-lin-ski) says it’s still hard to pinpoint an exact time…:

Cut 15 (13) “Sunday Afternoon”

This will be the fourth named storm to reach U.S. Landfall this year.  The last storm to affect Louisiana was Tropical Storm Patricia in 2015 which caused flash flooding in parts of the state.

The LSU Tigers take on No. 21 Florida tomorrow on the road, and not many people are giving The Bayou Bengals much of a chance in the Swamp. Associate Tiger Rag Editor James Moran says if LSU wants to start winning games, they are going to have to start playing a lot better. He says there are a lot of positives..:

Cut 16  (20)  “defines this game”

This is the game that was supposed to be played in Baton Rouge, but Hurricane Matthew forced the 2016 contest to be moved from Gainesville. But Moran says after losing to Troy in Death Valley last weekend, it might not be a bad thing for LSU to take a road trip. But he says on the offensive side of the ball, you’ve got to see some sort of progress from the Tigers…:

Cut 17 (20)  “it seems like”

Kickoff is at 2:30pm on CBS. Coach O said that Derrius Guice is probably going to play tomorrow afternoon. Moran says the offense really needs to see Guice back to his old self, and running at full speed…:
