Louisiana National Flood Insurance Program policyholders have received more than $2.4 billion in insurance payments during the year after the August 2016 flood. More than 29,000 claims have been closed. The data released Tuesday indicates Louisianians received an average payment of about $88,300 to repair and rebuild homes and businesses.
The ACLU of Louisiana has sent a letter to State Police after a man was cited for flipping off a trooper on I-12 in Rayville. Executive Director Marjorie Esman says that form of expression is protected under the First Amendment. The charges were dropped, but Esman says they want to ensure troopers do not infringe upon anyone else’s rights…:

Saints defensive back Delvin Breaux has a broken leg, and the club has reportedly fired two doctors who allegedly got the diagnosis wrong. WWL Radio has confirmed Breaux is expected to be out four to six weeks. The Saints training staff initially said that Breaux had a leg contusion, which now turns out to be a fracture.
