The Secretary of State’s office says 236,088 voters cast their ballot early for the November 4th election. Tom Schedler had predicted a 45-50 percent voter turnout for Tuesday’s election based on historical data but now says it could be as much as 54-percent.

Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz has endorsed Calhoun Republican Zach Dasher in Louisiana’s 5th District Congressional race. The final US Senate debate is happening tonight ahead of Election Day. The three main candidates will be participating — US Senator Mary Landrieu, Congressman Bill Cassidy and retired Air Force Col Rob Maness. The LSU Manship School of Mass Communication is hosting the televised debate which begins at 7pm.
