The state Department of Health is partnering with FEMA to offer free counseling to children and youth struggling with depression and anxiety after the recent floods. It’s reported that the state of Louisiana is spending more than $50 million dollars in the aftermath of the historic flooding. That figure, which continues to grow, includes the cost of rescue operations, shelters and more. About three quarters of the expenses would be covered by the federal government, but state leaders are asking that the feds increase their share to 90%.
