Big news for Mardi Gras 2026 in Lafayette. For the first time in decades a Mardi Gras parade will roll through downtown Lafayette on Jefferson Street. Mayor-President Monique Boulet says the return of Lafayette’s Mardi Gras route to its original location honors the city’s deep cultural roots while promoting economic growth.

While inflation has slowed down last month, it is still up year-over-year. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says even though overall inflation fell by three-tenths of a percent from August to September, prices are still three-percent higher than at this time last year. Stephen Kates, a financial analyst at Bankrate, says that’s higher than normal.

LSU owes its former football coach Brian Kelly roughly 54-million dollars for firing him in year four of a ten-year contract. LSU says terms of the separation are still being negotiated. Tiger Rag Executive Editor Todd Horne says LSU is looking at how the cost of the buyout can be reduced…

New Orleans native Frank Wilson is serving as interim coach, while tight ends coach Alex Atkins takes over as play caller as co-offensive coordinator Joe Sloan has also been fired.
