The World Health Organization announces ham, sausage, and other processed meats could lead to colon, stomach, and other cancers. Eric Gill reports…:

The State Office of Alcohol Tobacco Control and State Police say they will be announcing the results of a major strip club undercover operation on Bourbon Street. They say names will be released and the charges against numerous strip clubs, including drugs, prostitution and lewd acts.

After a disappointing turnout of just 39-percent in the primary, Secretary of State Tom Schedler hopes for bigger numbers in the November 21st runoff. He says there are a lot of important items on that ballot headlines by the governor’s race, Lt. governor and attorney general. He says another 153 races still need to be decided statewide so citizens should exercise that right…:

The heavy rainfall and strong winds we saw this past weekend has created some headaches for sugarcane farmers as they harvest their crop. LSU Ag Center sugarcane specialist, Kenneth Gravois, says the wet harvesting conditions make it more difficult and costly for the farmers. And he says moving the crop to the mills can create problems on the roads…:
