Scalise, Louisiana’s Congressman that represents the area around New Orleans, is reportedly seeking a step up in leadership from Majority Whip to Majority Leader.

Former Louisiana Tech standout Luke McCown will lead the Saints offense this Sunday against Carolina. Quarterback Drew Brees has been ruled out for the game, because of a bruised shoulder. Bress sustained the injury in last week’s loss to Tampa Bay and Coach Sean Payton says it did not recover enough for him to play against the Panthers…

The latest campaign finance reports are out in the governor’s race and Republican David Vitter still has a considerable financial edge over his three opponents. But Democrat John Bel Edwards raised the most out of all of the candidates in the latest fundraising period. Jeremy Alford of la-politics-com says Vitter wants to face Edwards in the run-off, so he poses this interesting question…

The historic O-K Allen Bridge which has connected Alexandria to Pineville for almost 80 years will be demolished Saturday. D-O-T-D Spokesperson Rodney Mallett says the new Curtis-Coleman Memorial Bridge will help to fix many current traffic problems…:
