Authorities are working to determine the victim’s identity, the driver that hit the bike has not been cited.

The state department of health and hospitals says they have found a brain-eating amoeba in another water system in Louisiana. This time the amoeba was located in the North Monroe Water System, which serves the town of Sterlington. It’s the fourth water system to test positive for the deadly amoeba. Officials say the water is safe to drink, just don’t get it up your nose.

Louisiana Oil and Gas Association President Don Briggs says the current state of the industry in Louisiana is not pretty. He says the declining prices of crude oil has caused the Oil and Gas industry to hit record lows in several areas in the past year.
