Governor Bobby Jindal doesn’t appear to be doing so hot at this point in the latest Republican presidential polls. A Monmouth University poll gives him just 1 percent support of Iowa Republican caucus voters. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat the fact that Jindal is a sitting governor could be hurting him…:

State Police say a crash in Tangipahoa Parish has claimed the life of a bicyclist. Trooper Dustin Dwight says the unidentified cyclist was traveling on the US 190 Tangipahoa River Bridge late Monday night…:

He says the woman on the bike was wearing dark clothing and had no lights or reflectors. Authorities are working to determine the victim’s identity.

Louisiana Oil and Gas Association President Don Briggs says the current state of the industry in Louisiana is not pretty. He says the declining prices of crude oil has caused the Oil and Gas industry to hit record lows in several areas in the past year. Briggs says the number of working drilling sites in the state has taken a huge hit…

He says it’s estimated that over 150,000 jobs have been lost in the Oil and Gas industry nationwide since the crash began late last year.
