The front-runner in the governor’s race, Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry, has committed to participating in one televised gubernatorial debate. It will take place on September 15th and it will be shown on TV stations owned by Nexstar. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says it would look bad if Landry avoided all of the debates…

Landry says he will not participate in a debate on September 7th, because the Urban League of Louisiana is one of the organizers and his campaign says that raises questions about impartiality. The Urban League says they do not have any biases.

LSU fans are hoping the 5th ranked Fighting Tigers pull out a victory on Sunday night against 8th ranked Florida State. Coach Brian Kelly is expecting a close game…

Louisiana is receiving an additional 210-million in federal highway money. Department of transportation spokesperson Rodney Mallett says the state allready spent its fedreral allotment for this year and these additional funds are dollars not spent by other states…

Mallett says this is the 15th year in a row that DOTD has received FHWA redistributed funds.

For the first time ever the Allstate Sugar Bowl is hosting a major music concert to help kick off the start of the college football season. Country music super stars Lainey Wilson and Garth Brooks will perform tomorrow in the Caesars Superdome….

Sugarbowl CEO Jeff Hundley says revenue from this concert event will help keep New Orleans involved as a host site for games when the college football playoff expands starting next year.
