Governor John Bel Edwards says there are still several people who are not following the statewide burn ban. Edwards spent yesterday in southwest Louisiana, which has the state’s largest wildfire, the Tiger Island Fire in Beauregard Parish. Edwards’ says the people who are not following the ban are not far away from this fire…

State Police say a 3-year-old boy was not properly restrained when the vehicle he was traveling in slammed into a truck towing a grain trailer on LA Hwy 877 in East Carroll Parish yesterday.

Trooper Ryan Davis says three-year-old Tavorious Hopkins of Lake Providence died at a local hospital. Three others received minor to moderate injuries.

State health officials say 25 people have died as a result of heat-related illnesses since June. That’s up from the 16 deaths that were reported on August 4th. Health Officer Dr. Joe Kanter says heat exhaustion and heat stroke can sneak up on you very quickly…
