It’s not happy news for many Mardi Gras fans and krewe members in New Orleans: shortened parade routes will make a return for 2023. After a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, parades last year were abbreviated on pretty short notice. The City says the shortage of police is why the routes are shorter again next year. Hardy says he’s hopeful things will be back to tradition by 2024.
The chancellor of LSU-Shreveport says he is stepping down. Larry Clark made the announcement Friday morning. He’s been a staff and faculty member since the 1980’s and has served as chancellor since 2014. Clark’s last day will be June 30th of next year.
Two Baton Rouge teens accused of plotting the murder of one’s mother will be held without bond. The 16-year-old girls allegedly convinced a 16-year-old boy to pull the trigger. 33-year-old Markeshia Stone was shot to death Wednesday. A judge denied them bail Friday morning.
