According to a recent report, 56% of all occupants who died in a crash did not use a safety belt. Executive Director of Statistical Analysis at the Highway Safety Research Group Helmut Schneider says the research has found a particular demographic that is the most likely to neglect seatbelts.

Medical Marijuana in Louisiana has been pushed back from the distributors hoped for launch date of late this year, to early next year as the grower, GB Sciences, its partner, LSU, and the Ag Department iron out the last regulatory details. Public Affairs Research Council Louisiana President Robert Scott says unlike other amendments on the ballot, this one certainly has some public opposition from groups who believe that once you serve your time, you shouldn’t be punished further.

It’s the number one amendment on the midterm ballot.

Parents of a Benton Elementary School nine-year-old student who say their child was abused by alleged serial predator and teacher “Perry” Norcross have filed a lawsuit against the Bossier Parish School System alleging negligence. Legal Analyst Tim Meche says if evidence surfaces that the school was warned about Norcross, they could be in trouble.

Norcross was arrested two weeks ago.

The Saints didn’t put up huge numbers on offense, but still beat the Minnesota Vikings 30-20 in Minneapolis last night. Despite allowing 423 yards, the Saints defense was probably the star of the night, with four sacks, including two from rookie Marcus Davenport, an interception return for a touchdown from PJ Williams, and a play early in the game that Coach Sean Peyton credits for being the play that turned the game.

Sunday, the 6-and-1 Saints host the undefeated Los Angeles Rams.
The Highway Safety Research Group has released its report that breaks down the data of Louisiana’s 2017 traffic reports that shows the state had 771 highway deaths last year, up slightly from 2016.  Executive Director of the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission Lisa Freeman says the state has seen a slight decrease in pedestrian deaths from 2016 to 2017, but says they still need to reach out to motorists to remember to share the road.

Amendment number four on the November ballot lets Louisianans decide whether or not their gas tax dollars should be allowed fund State Police, instead of being solely dedicated to infrastructure.   Even though it hasn’t been used to fund State Police in a while, President of Louisiana Good Roads Ken Perrett Perrett says that could always change in future administrations, which is why this amendment is needed.

The Saints win sets up a huge weekend of football in Louisiana. Satruday nigth in Tiger Stadium it’s top ranked Alabama versus 4th ranked LSU. The Tigers are 14.5 point underdogs for the 7 PM kick off.

And then Sunday afternoon in the Dome, the 6-and-1 Saints host the undefeated Los Angeles Rams, who won a wild won over the Green Bay Packers yesterday.

UL-Lafayette and McNeese State moved into first place in their respective conferences with victories on Saturday. The Ragin Cajuns outscored Arkansas State 47-43 to improve to 2-2 in the Sun Belt. Coach Billy Napier says it was a complete team win….

Parents of a Benton Elementary School nine-year-old student who say their child was abused by alleged serial predator and teacher “Perry” Norcross have filed a lawsuit against the Bossier Parish School System alleging negligence. Norcross was arrested two weeks ago on video voyeurism and rape charges involving separate students, with four counts of molestation of a juvenile, and two indecent behavior with a juvenile charges being added in the past few days. Legal Analyst Tim Meche says the framework of the lawsuit closely mirrors litigation in the nationwide scandal involving a major religious organization.

The Highway Safety Research Group has released its report that breaks down the data of Louisiana’s 2017 traffic reports that shows the state had 771 highway deaths last year, up slightly from 2016.
The main contributing factors in traffic fatalities were alcohol with 187 deaths and a low percentage use of safety belts, as 56% of all occupants who died in a crash weren’t wearing a safety belt. Executive Director of the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission Lisa Freeman says the impact of the traffic crashes, are denting both cars and the economy, with costs over $8 billion.

The hype really begins building today for the Top 5 match-up between LSU and Alabama on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide are a 14.5 favorite, it’s the biggest point spread where LSU is the underdog at Tiger Stadium in the last 20 years. ESPN College Gameday will be in town for the big game.

The Ragin Cajuns scored a touchdown with over a minute left to beat Arkansas State 47-43 on Saturday night. The win moves UL-Lafayette into a first place tie with ULM for first place in the Sun Belt Western Division. The Cajuns started out fast in this game, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter. Coach Billy Napier says they had a great game plan…
