Troopers say the impersonators contact the phones of potential victims by using a call that appears to be originating from Troop A. The caller is pretending to be law enforcement and attempting to gain personal information. Never give unsolicited callers any personal information.

Detillier says Canada would like to get a head coaching gig, plus he believes Ed Orgeron is not that excited about Canada’s offense. If Canada is not here for the bowl game. Detillier expects Coach O will call on tight ends coach Steve Ensminger to serve as O-C for the bowl game, but he’ll need to find someone else to call plays in 2018….

LSU Health New Orleans Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Michelle Many believes the general consciousness of sexual harassment has been raised over the last 10 years allowing for more victims to be taken seriously. She says it’s time for employers to take another look at this issue.

The current La Nina pattern is to blame for the recent aird conditions in Louisiana. An updated three month forecase from the Climate Prediction center is due tomorrow and State Climatologist Barry Keim says he expects more of the same. He says this strong La Nina will keep moisture from coming south.

A Denham Springs woman has been arrested for filing a false police report accusing a Livingston Parish deputy of raping her. State Police says 38-year-old Sherri Penton met the law enforcement office on a dating webite. Trooper Brian Lee says DNA tests cleared the deputy of any wrongdoing but when a law officer is accused, they take those allegations very seriously.

Penton is charged with filing a false complaint against law enforcement.

A Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a shooting after responding to a burglary. Authorities say 45-year-old David Rozas broke into the home of his estranged wife and refused to put a gun down when police arrived. Rozas raised the gun toward the deputy and the deputy fired. Rozas began firing back at the deputy, causing the deputy to continue to fire, hitting Rozas several times. Rozas was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He faces multiple charges including attempted first degree murder of a police officer.

State senator Sharon Hewitt of Slidell is calling on Louisiana Legislative Auditor Daryl Purpera to review the state’s sexual harassment policies and she also wants an investigation into the hiring of Johnny anderson. Anderson is a former aide to Governor Edwards, who resigned last week after sexual harassment allegations surfaced. Hewitt is seeking recommenations on how the state can strengthen it’s policies, procedures and laws pertaining to sexual harassment.

Television journalist Matt Lauer is the latest well-known name to lose his job for sexual misconduct. Why are we seeing so many accusations occurring and leading to the dismissal of some high-profile people? A Denham Springs woman has been arrested for filing a false police report after she allegedly told authorities she was raped by a Livingston Parish deputy.  State Police say 38-year-old Sherri Penton and the unidentified deputy met on a social dating website in mid-October.  State Trooper Bryan Lee explains what happened…

After the incident, Penton went to a hospital claiming she was sexually assaulted.  That is when Lee says State Police became involved.  During their investigation, conflicting statements from Penton were revealed…

DNA tests cleared the deputy of any wrongdoing.  Penton was arrested and charged with Filing a False Complaint against Law Enforcement.  Lee says when a law officer is accused, they seriously take any allegations cast against them…

Louisiana is falling further behind in rainfall.  The recent arid conditions is blamed on the current La Nina pattern that is in place.  State Climatologist Barry Keim says there has been very little rain this fall…

Honore predicts North Korea has about 12 nuclear warheads and the U.S. has about 3,900. He says the size of Kim Jong Un’s army is not to fight outside countries, it’s to control his people.

U.S. officials says these missiles launched by North Korea could comfortably reach anywhere in America. Honore says South Koreans need to be more aggressive getting information inside of the communist country. He says it’s a hard task to unify the Korean peninsula because not everyone wants it done.

Many says in the past, these claims were handled differently in the workplace and not always taken seriously. She says women often faced further victimized by coming out with allegations.

The St. Bernard Parish District Attorney’s Office announces the Chalmette man accused of murdering his ex-wife with an axe in September won’t face the death penalty. Mark Owens is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Authorities say Owens hid under his ex-wife’s bed at her house, waited until she left for work, then attacked her in the front yard.

Last Saturday, LSU’s offense had 601 yards of total offense against Texas A-and-M. But for the season, the Tigers rank 54th nationally in total offense, 72nd in scoring and 84th in passing. Head Coach Ed Orgeron said Saturday night he hopes offensive coordinator Matt Canada finds a head coaching job. Football analyst Mike Detillier says Orgeron might not be a fan of all the shifting and motion that Canada’s offense displays….

As of now, there’s not much interest in Canada as a head coach. There’s a report Canada is interested in the vacancy at Rice and at the same time, he was recruiting a quarterback in California for LSU this week.

The Saints offense didn’t look good last Sunday in the loss to the Rams and this week they’ll face the Carolina Panthers who rank second in the NFL in total defense. Carolina has also won four in a row. Kick-off on Sunday is at noon.

Tonight in the NBA, the Pelicans will host the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Smoothie King Center. The Pelicans have won four of their last five at home.

LSU is back home tonight to face U-T Martin. The Skyhawks won 22 games last season, but they lost a dozen players off that team and they are just 1-and-5 on the season. Louisiana Tech is at 24th ranked Alabama. The Bulldogs are off to a 5-0 start, while the Crimson Tide are 5-and-1.

Last night, the Ragin Cajuns made 11 three-pointers as the Cajuns defeated McNeese State 89-78. Malik Marquetti drained five threes and finished with a career-high 17 points.

Southeastern Louisiana won its fourth straight last night beating Loyola of New Orleans 80-53. Jordan Capps had 21 points.

And ULM never trailed in its 65-52 win over Jackson State. The Warhawks have won three of their last four.
