Doctors can now take on as many medical marijuana patients as they can handle after a ruling removed the previous, 100 patient cap. Matt Doyle has more.

A big groundbreaking ceremony for a new medical school on the ULM campus takes place at 11 AM. ULM has a land lease agreement with Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, which will construct a building at Heritage Park and the Grove. The university says no state funds will be used on the project.
Louisiana is receiving $1.8 million dollar federal grant annually over five years in a federal grant that will be used to establish a comprehensive mental health support program at 34 schools in Monroe and Jefferson and St. Bernard Parishes. Louisiana Department of Education spokesperson Sydni Dunn says it’ll help provide special training to school personnel.

Dunn says these schools have been identified as having high rates of referrals for out-of-school discipline.
