Six constitutional amendments are on tomorrow’s ballot and the one receiving the most interest is Amendment Two. That’s the one that requires unanimous jury verdicts in felony cases. Former district attorney Ed Tarpley has been traveling the state, encouraging voters to vote “Yes” and he says our founding fathers thought it ws vital for American justice to have unanimous verdicts to get a convication for a serious crime…

Opponents to Amendment Two say it will lead to more hung juries and additional court costs.

State Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s unit responding to a burglary in progress call this morning. Sheriff Tony Mancuso says the pedestrain was walking in the middle of the street, wearing dark clothes and the deputy apparently couldn’t see through the fog.
