A south Louisiana high school was placed on lockdown when a student reported a classmate had a weapon. But it turned out the student was holding a stapler. St. John the Baptist Sheriff deputies searched East St. John High School and they found the student. The stapler was reportedly wrapped in a bandanna. The student was arrested on charges of terrorizing.
The latest poll on the governor’s race shows Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards holding a small lead over Republican challenger Eddie Rispone, 48-to-46-percent. The survey paid for by Louisiana TV stations also finds that 39 percent of white voters approve of the job the Governor is doing, but only 28 percent say they plan to vote for him. Public hearings in the President Donald Trump impeachment inquiry begins tomorrow. Senator John Kennedy says if the case is properly analyzed, the results will come down to whether the President had a good faith basis for believing in the possible corruption involving former Vice President Joe Biden’s son’s business dealings in Ukraine.
