More than six-thousand Louisianans have yet to return the double tax refunds that were accidentally sent in March. The Louisiana Department of Revenue made the mistake of sending out twice the amount owed and 6,230 have yet to return the refund. The department is still attempting to collect approximately $1.9 million. If you owe the department you can contact them about repayment either in a lump sum or set up a payment plan.
Northwestern State University has established a scholarship in memory of sports-journalist and alumna Carley McCord, who was tragically killed in a plane crash along with four others last Saturday. McCord worked in the recruiting office while she attended NSU and McCord family friend Danielle Cobb says she made a big impression on prospective students.
The LSU Tigers will play for the National Championship in football in New Orleans and tickets for the game are a hot commodity. CEO of ticket reseller Gametime Blake Griffith says compared to other years of the CFP, this year’s game has the second-highest price for tickets, with the average price around $2,300. Griffith says there is lots of volatility to the ticket pricing with the game being held in mid-January.
