There are eleven days until the start of the legislative session. On the agenda is a proposal to increase teacher salaries by three-thousand dollars. Also an increase in supplemental pay for law enforcement officers and there’s a bill to increase the salary of lawmakers. Houma Republican Representative Tanner Magee says raising the pay of legislators’ in an election year is dicey….

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says it has 19 new commissioned agents who will enforce hunting, fishing, and boating regulations.
