It’s a day of mourning in Great Britain because of the death of Queen Elizabeth, who served 70 years on the throne. The Queen weathered several royal scandals, for example, the fallout from Princess Diana’s death. LSU History Professor Meredith Veldman says ironically there’s more fascination with the royal family across the pond.

Louisiana’s whooping crane population is up to 76 after a record eight chicks reached fledging stage this year. Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist Sara Zimorski says whooping cranes are slow to mauture and only lay one or two eggs a year….
