Louisiana’s population is on the decline. New Census Bureau estimates show Louisiana had an 84-thousand resident drop in the last three years alone. Experts say many leave the Bayou State for better job and school opportunities elsewhere. Demographer Greg Rigamer says Governor-Elect Jeff Landry’s administration will have to turn around the state’s economy to be more competitive.
