President Trump announces that starting later this month all states except for Texas and Florida will have to start paying 25 percent of the cost of their National Guard COVID deployments. Governor Edwards says that could cost Louisiana up to 10 million dollars by the end of the year.Florida ranks third in per capita cases and Texas ranks 14th. Louisiana is 1st in the nation.

Edwards penned a letter to President Friday requesting a reversal of the decision.
The reigning national champion Tigers are back on the practice field and adjusting to the new normal of wearing coronavirus spread mitigation gear. LSU Equipment Manager Greg Stringfellow says he’s following Coach O’s advice to adjust as the season goes forward, especially when it comes to faces coverings rules and regulations from NCAA.

The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking qualified adjunct instructors for the fall semester for courses like English, math, communications, psychology, and sociology. ULM VP of Academic Affairs Alberto Ruiz says the hiring push comes as the college is seeing an uptick in enrollment.
