Housing activists are growing concerned about the effects of Air BnB’s on New Orleans. Matt Doyle has the story.

Vernon Parish will be holding a military appreciation parade, which takes place today.  Executive Director of the Vernon Chamber of Commerce, Ann Causey, says they will have over six hundred members of America’s armed forces.

The weather should be great for thousands expected to be in attendance for the festivities with temps in the 80s and mostly sunny skies.

 

 

 

It’s an ailment that is causing a serious threat to the deer population, and from January through June of this year, a feeding ban was enacted in northeast Louisiana in order to minimize the risk of Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD, spreading into the state.  Now, Congressman Ralph Abraham is backing legislation for more in depth studies of the disease.  Abraham explains, that although not detected in the state yet, CWD has been spotted in 25 other states including Texas and Mississippi.

With midterm elections rapidly approaching, there’s buzz a rising level of enthusiasm for Democratic voters could lead to a “Blue Wave” that washes dozens of new Democrats into office, potentially shifting power in DC. JMC Analystic’s analyst John Couvillion says that means two Louisiana congressmen in particular will likely need to spend more time away from Washington.
