Some major road closures up near Shreveport to keep an eye on. Two interchanges between I-220 and I-49 have been closed. Thee I-220 eastbound ramp to I-49 North and the ramp from I-49 South to I-220 East have been shut off due to ice.
That nasty winter weather has likely canceled a few plans, but National Weather Service Shreveport meteorologist Mario Valverde says thankfully temperatures will be headed back up to respectable levels fairly shortly.

The IRS is warning the public about “ghost preparers” ahead of filing taxes, where someone will prepare a return for a fee and leave the tax payer with an inaccurate return before vanishing. IRS spokesperson Raphael Tulino says it’s important to find a reputable tax pro when getting ready to file.
The US Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, has temporarily halted the implementation of a Louisiana law that would have required that abortion providers have admitting privileges at a local hospital. The regulation, passed back in 2014, has been blocked repeatedly, but last month was ruled constitutional by an Appellate Court. Attorney General Jeff Landry.
A rideshare driver for Lyft has been arrest and accused of kidnapping and raping an intoxicated passenger in Jefferson Parish. Authorities say 30 year old Yousef Hamed picked up the victim from a bar and instead of taking her to her home, he then took her to his home in Harvey and raped the woman. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto
