The State’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign goes through the Labor Day weekend. Louisiana Highway Safety Commission Spokesperson Greg Fischer is encouraging drivers to be sober behind the wheel.

Data out of LSU shows 38 people in Louisiana died in crashes over Labor Day weekend between 2017 and 2021.

No. 5 LSU and No. 8 Florida State are set to kick off tomorrow evening at 6:30 central time. The Tigers lost to the Seminoles 24-23 last season after a blocked extra point. This is the only top-10 matchup of the weekend. Coach Brian Kelly says that both team’s styles of play are very similar.

It’s also a big weekend for hunters in Louisiana. The 2nd Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is back after a four year hiatus. That means you won’t have to pay the state sales tax when you purchase firearms, ammunition and certain other hunting supplies. The event was suspended in 2018 due to budget shortfalls, but state lawmakers brought it back earlier this year. The sales tax holiday runs through tomorrow. I’m Jeanne Burns, Louisiana Radio Network
