The Louisiana Workforce Commission says the state hit an employment record in June as 2,036,316 people were working, an increase of nearly 37-thousand from June 2017. L-W-C Secretary Ava Dejoie says construction and manufacturing are two sectors of our economy doing well….

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announces one of its cadets died while training in Baton Rouge. LDWF Spokesperson Adam Einck says 38-year-old Immanuel Washington of Youngsville collapsed shortly after finishing a 2.5 mile run…

Nine people have signed up for the Secretary of State’s race, including interim Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, who had said for months he would not seek the position. The Baton Rouge Republican said he changed his mind ten minutes before qualifying ended on Friday afternoon.

There are four other major candidates in the race . Former republican state legislator A.G. Crowe and Democrat Renee Fonentot Free, who works in the A-G’s office.

Also two current state lawmakers are in the field for the November 6th election…
