A federal appeals court based out of New Orleans has ruled the individual health insurance mandate in the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional. But the court did not rule on whether all of the A-C-A is unconstitutional, so the nation’s health care law remains in place for now.

Louisiana is one of 15 states that saw an increase in college enrollment based on the number of students who attended classes this fall. Higher Education Commissioner Kim Hunter Reed says the goal is to boost enrollment even more to meet a lofty goal…

Utah, New Hampshire, and Arizona led the nation in enrollment increases, while Alaska, Florida, and Arkansas saw the largest decreases.

The Louisiana Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, also known as CASA, says they are looking for more volunteers to help children in the foster care system. CASA Louisiana Executive Director Kathleen Stewart Richey says there are 79-hundred children in foster care, but only 36-hundred have CASA agents…
