The House Transportation Committee approves a bill that would require speed enforcement cameras to get a picture of the driver of a speeding vehicle, along with the license plate. Marksville Representative Daryl Deshotel says he’s seeking to pass this bill because there are residents receiving speeding tickets when it was someone else driving their vehicle

The sexual misconduct suit filed by 10 former students against LSU has been settled out of court. Legal analyst Franz Borghardt says sometimes settlements are based on the cost of defending versus the value of the actual suits…

Complaints in the suit included allegations of sexual misconduct involving former LSU star running back Derius Guice.

Governor Landry believes college athletes should lose their scholarship if they are not on the court for the national anthem. This is in response to the Lady Tigers basketball team not being present for the anthem before their Elite Eight matchup against Iowa. Iowa was on the court. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Landry has been flexing his political muscle, but taking scholarships away from collegiate athletes might be too much…

Legal analysts say it would be unconstitutional to take a student-athletes scholarship away because they were not present for the anthem.

Legislation has been filed for lawmakers to hold a constitutional convention and it would start May 20th, which would likely mean the regular session would have to end two weeks early. Senate President Cameron Henry says there are lawmakers who do not not want to rush into a constitutional convention…

The convention would run from May 20th to July 15th under the current proposal. Henry says legislators are also eager to get back to their full time jobs after already holding two special sessions this year.
