A bill to eliminate vehicle inspection stickers in Louisiana will be heard in House Transportation today. Brooke Thorington has more.

The U-S Marshals task force says it arrested a wanted sex offender living in a hut near the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area in the Atchafalaya Basin. Authorities say 51-year-old Brian Schaller’s home was made from tree limbs, tarps and paracord and he was eating small game and rodents. He was wanted for sexual and oral sexual battery in Tangipahoa Parish.
Former Addis police officer David Cauthron has pled guilty to two counts of manslaughter for driving at a high rate of speed and slamming his police cruiser into another vehicle, killing two teenagers from Brusly High School on New Year’s Eve 2022. West Baton Rouge District Attorney Tony Clayton says Cauthron was reckless as he pursued a vehicle stolen from a family member.

Cauthron was sentenced to 32 years in prison, 22 of the years are suspended.
On a much more positive story, the Grambling State men’s basketball team is preparing to play in its first ever NCAA Tournament game tomorrow night against Montana State. Head Coach Donte Jackson says it was not an easy journey to this point…
