A shooting near the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus late yesterday afternoon left an 18-year-old in critical but stable condition. Authorities say several individuals were involved in a fight in a parking lot, when one of the individuals pulled out a gun and shot the victim. No arrests have been made.

Thousands of Louisiana taxpayers have until today to claim their state income tax refund or it will be turned over to the state’s Unclaimed Property fund. The most common reason there are unclaimed tax returns is due to an individual moving. Department of Revenue spokesperson Byron Henderson says if you have moved since you last filed your taxes it’s easy to update your mailing address.
