As COVID cases continue to spike, the state health department says flu wise the state is in good shape. Brooke Thorington has more.

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy supports President Donald Trump’s legal challenges in several states over the result of the November 3rd election but admits it will be difficult to get the courts to overturn the election. Cassidy says the President should not concede until he runs out of legal options

A federal lawsuit filed on behalf of Louisiana landlords seeks to overturn the moratorium on rental evictions ordered by the CDC. Luke Wake an attorney with the Pacific Legal Foundation, filed the suit on behalf of a group of property owners in Monroe and the Apartment Association of Louisiana. Wake says the CDC has no such authority.

State and local officials in southwest Louisiana have broken ground on a 152-million dollar project to widen Interstate 10 from the Texas State line to I-210.
State Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson says the project also consists of ten new bridges that will be wider than the structures currently in place. Construction is expected to be completed in 2025. He says once the work is done, the Lake Charles area will have an improved hurricane evacuation route.
