Drivers that use the Sunshine Bridge connecting Donaldsonville to Sorrento to cross the Mississippi River are going to have to find a new route for a while as damage sustained from a barge has resulted in the 54-year-old structure’s closing. DOTD spokesperson Rodney Mallett says there is no timeline for when the bridge will reopen.
