New Orleans Mayor-elect Helena Moreno has selected her City Council colleague and current Budget Chair, Joe Giarrusso, to serve as New Orleans’ next Chief Administrative Officer. As CAO, Giarrusso will oversee the city’s day-to-day operations, manage city services, and supervise how New Orleans spends its money.

As Meta builds its ten billion dollar AI data center in Richland Parish… Entergy Louisiana has begun work on two new power plants to support it. Entergy says Meta is paying for the state-of-the-art generation facilities, but environmental groups have raised concerns that the data centers will lead to higher energy costs for everyone. Louisiana Senate President Cameron Henry says that’s what a new task force is looking into.
New LSU football coach Lane Kiffin is a bit of a yogi ans seems to have found a place to practice in Baton Rouge at the Yogalates Studio on Perkins Road. Yoglates owner Kate Fox says she was delighted when she got the call saying the coach wants to come by this week and she’s hopping he’ll be a longtime client.
