Louisiana Tech won its Conference USA opener last night as the Bulldogs defeated FIU 43-31. Justin Henderson had a big night with three touchdowns and 141 yards rushing. Bailey Hale tied a school record with five field goals. Tech’s next game is next Saturday at Rice.
ULM will look for the school’s first-ever win against a Big 12 school when they visit Iowa State. Both teams are coming off one-point losses. The Ragin Cajuns are at Ohio. After scoring 77 points last week against Texas Southern, how will U-L Lafayette’s offense perform today at 1 PM.
Southland play begins today. McNeese is at Abilene Christian. The Cowboys have never lost to A-C-U in six previous matchups. Ninth ranked Nicholls travels to Stephen F Austin to begin defense of its conference title. The Lumberjacks are winless on the season. Southeastern hosts Lamar. And then tomorrow its the Saints versus the Seahawks. Drew Brees, Tre’Quan Smith and Sheldon Rankins will not play. But Rankins says he’s close to getting back on the field as he recovers from a torn Achilles.
