Zach Streif is leaving the broadcast booth as the voice of the Saints to become an assistant offensive line coach for the Black and Gold. Streif played 12 seasons with the Saints as a right tackle and spent the last three years calling football games for the franchise he loves. Streif says he wants to help young guys grow and develop.

In college football last night, Nicholls scored 13 touchdowns as they scored a school-record 87 points in an 87-3 win over Lincoln University of Missouri., which is a division two school. Lindsey Scott threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. Nicholls hosts Lamar next Saturday.

The Pelicans were outscored 41-12 in the fourth quarter last night and were burned by the Suns 132 to 114. Defending the three-point shot continues to be a problem for New Orleans as Phoenix hit 22 of them.

On the PGA Tour, former LSU golfer Sam Burns has a five-shot lead over Dustin Johnson after two rounds at the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles.

The LSU men’s basketball team hosts Auburn at three pm today. The Tigers are in third place in the SEC with an 8-and-4 record, while Auburn is 5-and-8. Tigers coach Will Wade says his team will need to be ready to defend after made baskets…

It’s opening day for LSU baseball. The seventh-ranked Tigers will host Air Force at 1 PM. Potential first-round pick Jaden Hill will get the start on the mound for the Bayou Bengals and he’s expected to throw three innings.

Yesterday, Luis Aviles two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the tenth gave Tulane a three to two victory over the Ragin Cajuns. McNeese outhit 25th ranked Alabama 12 to 9 last night but lost to the Crimson Tide ten to six. The series continues today at 2 PM.
