LSU will play Michigan in the second round on Sunday night. The Wolverines defeated U-N-L-V 71-59 yesterday. Southeastern Louisiana lost in its first every appearance in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, 95-to-43 to second seeded Iowa.

The top ranked LSU baseball team opened SEC play last night with a nine to nothing win over Texas A-and-M. Paul Skenes struck out eleven in 6.1 innings for his fifth win on the season. Third baseman Tommy White drove in three runs.

The Ragin Cajuns trounced Arkansas State 15 to 4 to open Sun Belt play. U-L Lafayette scored seven runs in the first inning and Jake Hammond recorded a career-high ten strikeouts.

ULM lost in ten innings to Old Dominion five to three. Louisiana Tech topped Charlotte two to one. Jonathan Fincher pitched six strong innings.

Northwestern State defeated Little Rock nine to four. McNeese over Yale seven to one. Memphis defeated Southeastern Louisiana Four to three and Nebraska swept a doubleheader from Nicholls.

Grambling won over Southern eight to seven in 12 innings to open up SWAC play.

Bad loss for the Pelicans last night as they blew a double digit lead in the fourth quarter and fell to the Rockets 114 to 112. The same two teams will play again Sunday in Houston.
