The implosion of two cranes Sunday at the collapsed Hard Rock Hotel site went as well as expected according to New Orleans Fire Chief Tim McConnell. One of the cranes impaled Rampart Street and did damaged a sewer line. The focus now is on search and extraction of the two bodies that remain at the site. The state’s latest tally of hepatitis A cases is up to just shy of 600, the highest case count in twenty years. Louisiana Department of Health immunization director Dr. Frank Welch says those most at risk are those that have been homeless or have used injectable drugs over the last year. Immunizations can easily be obtained from pharmacies, doctors, federally qualified health centers, or public health units.
