The state of Louisiana is expanding who can get the COVID-19 vaccine. Starting Monday essential workers are eligible for the shot. That includes people working in foodservice and grocery stores, manufacturing, construction, clergy and other essential jobs.

A 19-year-old Lafayette man has been charged with a hate crime and kidnapping charges. Federal prosecutors say Chance Joseph Seneca tried to kidnap and murder gay men by connecting with them through social media and a dating app. One of his victims was strangled and his wrists were slit to the bone.
