Instead of choosing one of the two major Republicans running for Governor against incumbent Democratic Governor Edwards, the business lobbying group LABI (LA-BEE) is supporting both Congressman Ralph Abraham and businessman Eddie Rispone. Edwards reportedly clashed with the association over tax and spending policies during his term. In 2015 the LABI did not endorse anyone in the primary because their candidate lost to Edwards in the runoff.
A five-year-old was found with a bag of cocaine and two bags of crack at a Slidell school yesterday and now two adults are under arrest as a result. Detective Daniel Seuzeneau (Sue-zuh-no) says a teacher spotted the child with a bag of white powder and called a resource officer to investigate. Police then searched the child’s home and discovered additional narcotics at the scene.
The Eastbank Little League baseball team from River Ridge advances in the World Series after beating New Jersey 4-1 yesterday, putting them one win away from competing in the US final and two wins from the championship game against an international team.
