Governor Edwards is sounding the alarm over a rise in coronavirus cases. He’s urging Louisiana residents to make sure they are taking proper precautions to reduce the spread of the virus. The state is reporting over 42-hundred new cases of COVID-19 since June 10th.

A generic steroid known as dexamethasone (dek-suh-meh-thuh-sown) has shown it can cut the risk of death for COVID-19 patients on ventilators by a third. Kevin Barnhart spoke with a Tulane doctor who has used it on patients.

A former LSU football player has filed a federal lawsuit against the university in an effort to get back on the football team. The unidentified player was suspended last month for at least one year for allegedly having non-consensual sex with a female student. Attorney Kristina Supler says LSU determined the student was guilty and never gave the player a chance to confront and cross-examine his accuser and other witnesses…

The state House unanimously approves a proposal to send a 250 dollar check to front line workers who were required to work during the first few weeks of the pandemic. To qualify workers must earn under 50,000 a year. A prior version had the limit at 70,000 a year, but the bill’s author Shreveport Representative Sam Jenkins says that’s not fiscally feasible.
