A new report on employment outcomes shows men who earned an associate degree, which may take two to three years to complete, earn higher wages in many cases than men with a bachelor’s degree, which typically takes four-years to receive.
That’s Barry Erwin with Leaders for a Better Louisiana, who says the report released by the Blanco Policy Center has found a significant growth in the number of certificate completers since 2010.

Shreveport Police say two people were killed and a dog also died in a deadly crash with a train during the overnight hours. Investigators say a vehicle attempted to go around the arms of the track and collided with the train. Identities of the victims have not been released.
