A Southern grad has reportedly been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of a Southern University student who died during a suspected hazing incident that took place at a warehouse off campus. Officials say 20-year-old Caleb Wilson died after he was punched in the stomach. Caleb McCray has been charged with hazing and manslaughter.

A bill has been filed for the upcoming legislative session that would prohibit the use of fluoride in public water systems. Covington Senator Patrick McMath says a study found fluoride concentration that exceeds 1.5 milligrams per liter can cause health issues. Tulane epidemiology professor Felicia Rabito says McMath’s reasoning doesn’t add up, pointing out the current EPA standard is point-seven milligrams per liter.
