Governor Landry says the LSU women’s basketball team should have been on the floor for the national anthem before the game against Iowa. The governor is suggesting a policy to take scholarships away from student-athletes who are not present for the national anthem. Loyola University Law Professor Dane Ciolino says the proposal is unconstitutional.

At the state capitol…a bill that would prohibit speed enforcement cameras from issuing tickets if there’s no image of the driver receives approval from the House Transportation Committee. Supporters of the legislation say the cameras are just a way for private businesses to make money and do nothing to prevent speeding. But Mike Knaps with the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police disagrees…

The LSU-Iowa game goes down as the most watched women’s college basketball game in history. According to Nielsen data the Elite Eight matchup averaged 12-point-three million viewers. It surpasses the 11.8 million people who watched the 1983 championship game between USC and La Tech. That game featured Kim Mulkey versus Cheryl MIller.
